Film is a physical thing, and physical things get hurt. Light leaks past the gate, prints collect dust and the odd hair, scratches run down the reel, and the projector lamp breathes. Celluloid FX is that damage, sorted and ready.

Burns Four UHD burn-throughs, three seconds each. They start as a glow at the edge, bloom through the frame to near-white and fall away. Centre one on a cut, set it to Screen, and you have a transition that feels like a reel change.

Dust & scratches Light, Medium and Heavy, each in two polarities:

• Positive: black dirt on white, for Multiply, like dust on a print
• Negative: white sparkle on black, for Screen, like dust on the negative

Ten seconds of specks, curly fibres and drifting vertical scratches, all of which loop.

Flicker A mid-grey exposure-breathing plate for Overlay, for the unsteady pulse of a hand-cranked projector.
