Overview

We made Ocre for our own documentaries, for the kitchens, workshops, market stalls and late afternoons where real stories happen. We wanted something warm that never turns orange, and natural without ever going flat.

Greens soften toward olive. Skies settle. Highlights take on the colour of cream paper, and the shadows gain a quiet print density. Skin stays skin.

Three variants

  • Base: everyday daylight
  • Warm Interior: tungsten, window light, lamps left on
  • Overcast: grey days given back a little warmth

What's inside

  • The PowerGrade (.drx) with a still for each variant
  • A calm, labelled tree: CST IN · Exposure · Balance · Tone · Colour · Skin · Saturation · CST OUT
  • The Tone and Colour nodes as LUTs (DaVinci Wide Gamut / Intermediate), if you'd rather build your own

How we work with it Set the first node to your camera. Balance each shot on nodes two and three, and let the look carry the rest. If a scene asks for less, lower the Key Output Gain on the Colour node.

Made for any camera, from cinema bodies to phones.
